Briefly describe what prompted you to apply to Santa Clara University. If you have had the opportunity to visit the campus, please describe what aspect of your experience most influenced your impression of SCU. (199/200)*

Every time I visit, I encounter an event that attracts me to SCU. The craze of the football game where the cheering of hundreds of students create enough excitement for the entire city to hear; or cultural events in the middle of the lawns where dances are performed and art is shared. When I visit, I lose myself in the beauty of the perfect gardens and symmetrical buildings, whether it’s for a math competition, debate tournament, or simply taking prom pictures. Santa Clara’s cultural diversity is alive with an excitement to learn that I have both observed myself and heard about from my friends enrolled there.

Being at the center of the technology hub that is Silicon Valley, SCU will prepare me for my future career in computer science and technology in an environment of inclusivity and humanity. Building connections with my peers and professors at Santa Clara will allow me to thrive in the technological world by branching out and taking advantage of local internship opportunities. From using VR technology to alleviate anxiety, to computationally analyzing conditions in third world countries, every project at SCU promotes a sustainable and humane world that I want to take part in.
