What are you looking for in a university, why do you want to attend Baylor, and how do you see yourself contributing to the Baylor community? (750 words)

I am curious about how different body system work together in order to keep me alive. I ask myself how do tiny brainless cells connect together to maintain homeostasis? I read books and watch online videos to learn more, but the answers I have learned so far do not reveal the entire picture. I envision a University were I can be part of tight knit community were I can broaden my knowledge.

I believe that my time at Baylor will broaden my view. Baylor provides top ranked academics with learning opportunities both inside and outside the classroom. I plan to major in biochemistry and baylor provides me with a tight knit community where faculty and research opportunities can be accessed easily. I want to do undergraduate research in the field of biochemistry. Baylor has many laboratories with high tech equipment that I could use to advance my knowledge.

As amazing as the academics at Baylor are, what truly makes it special is the nurturing community. Baylor has strong core values that focus on building the character of a person through both academics and helping the community both on campus and the local community around the university. I believe this type of environment will be an ideal place to learn and grow as a person. I plan to take part in the opportunity to join this community by volunteering to tutor at local schools through Baylor Buddies and help alleviate hunger through Campus.

I see myself using the academic opportunities at Baylor has to offer combined with the nurturing atmosphere of the campus to learn more about my interests and satiate my curiosities. I believe that Baylor has everything I am looking for in a university.
