Describe your academic interests and how you plan to pursue them at USC. Please feel free to address your first- and second-choice major selections (250 word limit).

I’m interested in computer science, specifically artificial intelligence and video game creation. I will bring my experience with Java, Javascript, HTML/CSS, and Swift and my insatiable appetite for knowledge to USC.

At the USC’s Viterbi School of Engineering, I would take courses such as CSCI 380: Video Game Programming and CSCI 360: Introduction to Artificial Intelligence, as well as the more advanced classes that follow those pathways, such as Foundations of Artificial Intelligence and Computer Graphics. These courses would help me expand upon the knowledge I have gained in those fields from programming my own games and using 3D modeling software such as Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Maya.

I would also love to research with professors such as Sven Koenig, whose work on intelligent systems is really fascinating. USC is on the cutting edge of artificial intelligence research, and this coincides with my interest in the field and its applications to both video game programming and real-life problems such as transportation and creating machines that can effectively accomplish goals by analyzing information.

USC will provide me with the resources and environment I need to grow into a computer scientist who can innovate, inspire, and revolutionize the software industry with amazing applications and games.
