The Pioneer Research Program provides high school students with research opportunities across a wide range of disciplines. Pioneer students interact with American professors in an online learning environment to develop the skills needed to succeed in college.
The full tuition of the program is $6,355. This includes all the individual guidance meetings with the professor mentor, access to the writing center, research support training and Oberlin’s electronic library system, and the accreditation. Pioneer offers need-based aid to students who can demonstrate it. Typically, they do this through a FAFSA calculator, but also offer aid through non-profit partnerships like QuestBridge. About 20% of students receive financial aid, which depending on their economic situation, ranges from partial to full.
Interested students can attend an online info session, which is offered every Friday and Saturday. For the upcoming summer term, students can apply on a rolling basis through most of April, until the program is full. They can sign up at https://pioneeracademics.com/html/joininfosession.php.
