I hope to follow a Pre-medicine track at Rice University so I can use my interest in science to further my personal mission of helping others. I want to pursue an interdisciplinary approach to my undergraduate education, and I believe that the cognitive sciences major would combine my primary interests of psychology and neuroscience. Studying in the School of Social Science, will expose me to different perspectives from philosophy, psychology, and linguistics. In addition, I also hope to receive a strong foundation in biology through my classes and possible involvement with the Bioscience Research Collaborative. Since I am interested in the brain as well, I hope to pursue Rice’s minor in neuroscience. By studying in this school, I would be exposed to different perspectives while preparing for my goal of attending medical school.
