Write a letter to your future roommate at Pepperdine. Tell them what characteristics would make you a good roommate and what you are looking forward to most in college. (50-300 words)

Dear future roommate,

I am excited to start college with you! Before we start rooming together, let me give you some background information about me.

Let me start off with a warning; I am very spontaneous. In our time together, you never know what may happen the next second. One minute I may be calmly studying, and the next I can suddenly start dancing to booming music at any time of day. After all, so much in our life is planned, from our classes to our study sessions, but where’s the fun in that? I promise you that the energy I have will make our experience together enjoyable.

Moreover, I hope you love music as much as I do, because I can’t get enough of it. I have always enjoyed myself while singing Indian classical music, playing on my violin or even listening to pop music. Don’t be startled when you walk through the door and see me sitting on the floor, cross-legged, singing while patting my thigh with my hand, because I swear I’m not haunted: this is just how I practice Carnatic music.

I should also alert you that I am a social, extrovert. Every single day, I come home from school and overwhelm my mother with all the details of my day. While I am very expressive, I am also a great listener. You won an award and want to rejoice with someone? I’m your person. You are having problems with your professor and want to complain? I’m your person. You just want to talk about your day? I’m still your person. Rain or shine, day or night, I will always be with you, so don’t ever frett!

Looking forward to sharing a room with and learning more about you,
