We accept applications from rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors in high school who are in good academic standing	(Residential program) Before beginning your collegiate career, engage in the Leadership Institute to enhance your ability to inspire and influence people to reach a collective goal. The Leadership Institute helps you develop your own leadership capabilities, style and ethical code. There is no better place to take this course than in Washington, DC, the international hub of leadership. Visit local corporations, government agencies, Capitol Hill offices and non-profit organizations where you can learn from those who make difficult decisions every day. As a Leadership Institute student, you will follow in the footsteps of presidents, CEOs, cabinet secretaries and foreign heads of state who have studied at Georgetown at some point in their academic careers. Our faculty is composed of leadership coaches who have worked with top executives. They will teach you what they have learned and test your skills through simulation exercises.

Washington DC	June 18 - July 8, 2017	Who is eligible to apply? We accept applications from rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors in high school who are in good academic standing	(Residential program) Combining skills-based education with hands-on experience and applied reflection, this unique Community Impact & Leadership Immersion will introduce students to understanding critical social justice issues that affect our communities. These three weeks will provide students with the academic foundation and capacities they need as leaders and advocates for social change. With Washington, DC as an extension of the classroom, students will actively engage in highly structured community-based learning, and directly work on projects with organizations that serve disadvantaged and underserved communities. This experiential learning program will offer students the opportunities to see how direct action and community engagement intersects with policy development. Students will gain essential practical skills as well as interact with leaders from Capitol Hill, governmental organizations, community-based organizations; international human and civil rights advocates; and current youth activists. Students will apply their knowledge by collaboratively working in groups to identify issues in their own communities and propose plans of action to respond and transform real world injustices. While doing so, they will deepen their understanding of social justice, develop capacities for sustaining engagement, and become part of a learning community committed to personal growth through service, action and reflection.
Young Women's Political Leadership Program	Accepting applications on a rolling basis, January 15, 2017 – March 1, 2017.	Washington, DC	June 19 – 24, 2017	Girls who will be in high school in fall 2017 and 2017 graduates	(Residential program) Our flagship program introduces high school girls to the power of political leadership. It includes workshops led by experts about public speaking, networking, fundraising, on-camera media training, and advocacy. Women candidates and elected officials speak about what it is like to run as a young woman, how to get involved on a local level, and why it is important to get more women elected. The goal of the program is to encourage the girls to channel their leadership skills into politics.This program has been held in Washington, DC, since 2007. Over the years, more than 40,000 young women have applied. Other YWPL trainings have been held in California, New York, Michigan, and Sierra Leone.
Global Scholar 2015	Rolling application	Washington, DC	* Session 1: July 2-13 * Session 2: July 16-27 * Session 3: July 16-22 (freshman and sophomores only)	High school students incl. freshmen	Global Scholar is an international relations summer program that builds the knowledge and skills high school students need to become leaders. Through hands-on learning and meetings with leading policy experts, Global Scholar empowers many young global leaders to become change makers on their college campuses and in their local communities. Recent graduates of the program have enrolled at top institutions like Harvard, Columbia, the University of Chicago, McGill University, and others. Global Scholar alumni have also gone on to work with leading organizations like the United Nations.

In addition to classes in topics like international relations, constitutional law and speech & political communication, speakers programs, debate workshops, and social activities help equip students with vital leadership skills while forming lasting friendships and memories.

University of Pennsylvania - Global Leadership & International Affairs	Applications open. No deadline announced.	University of Pennsylvania	July 2 - July 29	High school students incl. freshmen	If you’re just getting interested in international relations or are already a student of global politics, our pre-college Global Leadership & International Affairs summer program will increase your knowledge of global policy and politics, expose you to real-time international issues and improve your leadership skills. To provide a diverse world perspective, half of our students are international. The unique Global Leadership & International Affairs summer program is designed for high school students and features debate, public speaking, research workshops, social entrepreneurship, realistic UN simulations, and guest speakers — including international dignitaries, members of foreign embassies and authorities in the field. You will also enjoy field trips to the United Nations in New York City and Embassy Row in Washington, DC.
