The School of The New York Times - The Future of Fashion TBD New York June 25 - July 8 Ages 14-17 Identify exciting new technologies and innovations in the fashion industry and examine how technological innovation impacts a shopper’s relationship with clothing and accessories.

The class will explore the future of fashion by focusing on three areas which are currently generating widespread public discourse: wearable technology (for example, fitness trackers), 3D printing (unlimited variations in design from one’s own home) and ethical fashion (changes in the supply chain for a healthier planet and people).

Students will condense lessons taught in these three areas, re-imagine their sense of where, how and why fashion is heading in the foreseeable future, and present a small capsule collection of sketches of clothing with corresponding inspirations from their research.
